Field Studies; Intern at the Polyclinic Credentialing Department

Learning Objective 1: The intern will be introduced and familiarized the The Polyclinic.

Accomplished: I adapted quickly to the new environment and met with each team member to become more introduced to the processes of credentialing.

Learning Objective 2: The intern will research and learn the process of credentialing.

Accomplished: From the first week, I researched credentialing, learned about the board specialties, provider types, and viewed different credentialing websites. I was also able to sit in on the ‘live action’ of a group huddle that discussed various problems and topics arising on a daily basis.

Learning Objective 3: The intern will create a visibility board to showcase the credentialing department’s accomplishments.

Accomplished: I was able to complete the visibility board plan, the product, and training all within the ten weeks.

Learning Objective 4: The intern will submit her finished project for analyzation.

Accomplished: I submitted the board to analyzation and there were board edits 3 times to perfect the final product. At the end, I was able to laminate the final product and slides that will not be changing over the next year.

Overall, I was extremely grateful for the experience, interning at The Polyclinic and I think that I did an exceptional job. These are a few strengths that I had throughout my time there, through each learning objective;

  • I was able to complete my project assignment in a timely manner.
  • I was punctual.
  • I was invested and treated the workspace as I was actually employed there.
  • I was creative throughout the visibility board project.
  • I was determined, dedicated, and innovative to create the most efficient processes for each PowerPoint.
